Situated at the Southern most tip of Africa, divided into 9 provinces, each offering a variety of vegetation from bushveld to savannah, semi deserts and forests.

HUNTING SEASON - Although trophy hunting is done throughout the year, due to our climate of heat and rain, the best hunting months are between March and October.

CLIMATE - Our climate is generally sunny which can be harmful so therefore the use of a hat, protective clothing and sunscreen is necessary. Mid Winter occurs in June and July with mid summer in December and January.

CURRENCY AND FOREIGN EXCHANGE - South African Rand = ZAR,  R1 = 100 cents.
Travellers cheques and foreign currency notes of all major currencies can be exchanged at airports, commercial banks and major hotels.

ELECTRICITY - South African's electricity supply is 220/230 volts AC 50 Hz.

WATER - Our tap water is palatible and safe to drink. Bottled water is available.

LANGUAGES - We have 11 official languages although English is understood and spoken by most people.

LEGALISM - The Professional Hunting Industry is regulated by the Professional Hunting Association of South Africa (PHASA).

Legislation protects the foreign hunter in South Africa and the Professional Hunter or Outfitter has the license in order to operate. They are legally responsible for supplying all hunting requirements once you enter into the Republic of South Africa.
